Since 1974 playgroup has acted as a meeting place for families and carers with young children. All playgroups are unique. Some like structure, with planned activities. Others are laid back with no set agenda. Some people simply like to pop in for a cuppa and a chat. Some come every once in a while. Some run playgroups four times a week. There are many laughs and occasional tears (naturally) . Playgroup is a place to share and to care.
Playgroups can form organically with friends and neighbours or you can join a brand new group in your community. There are no set rules. Parents often find playgroup to be a sanctuary, to meet other parents, gather advice and just relax while their children play. There is much evidence supporting play based learning, especially during the formative periods in a young child's life. Playgroup promotes learning through play and has many years experience in this field, providing valuable information, resources and know-how! The main aim of the game is enjoyment; to find contentment and bond. Alongside that, profound connections are made. Friendships are forged, support networks are tightened and there is a chance to relate, recuperate and rally for the next thing! Your precious children will continue to keep you busy and tired - and utterly, dotingly, lovingly by their side for many years to come. Most importantly, playgroup allows you to treasure your time together. Making memories. Having fun.
